ARTIST STATEMENT:
Beile Hu is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher working across performance, sound, and moving images. Expanding toward the soft touch of one-to-one relationships, their practice often revolves around self-exposure, ritual repetition, and intimate interactions with people and non-human entities. Their work explores the potential of the human body as a vessel for easing pain, a culture dish for resistance and rebellion. Through sound, interactive performance, and mixed-media installations, they examine how technology can both extend and constrain the body. Through sensory interplay and the navigation of vulnerability within performance, their practice investigates how emotions are retained, transformed, and echoed through human presence—physically, culturally, and historically.
