Flows Between (2026)

Ultrasonic distance sensor, dosing pump, Arduino board, acrylic containers, silicone tubing filled with lagoon water.

Acrylic containers (6 × 6 × 18 cm; 6 × 6 × 8 cm); silicone tubing (approx. 500 cm).

Overall Dimensions variable.

Audience View

As an audience member’s hand approaches the sensor, the water begins to pump and circulate within the container.

The closer the hand moves toward the sensor, the faster the pump runs.

Work Description

An ultrasonic sensor on the gallery floor detects the unseen currents of daily life-our footsteps, movements, and subtle interactions with the lagoon water. This real-time data modulates the speed of the pumps and is translated into vibrations within the flowing water. Through this process, the work reveals how the lagoon and the built environment listen to, register, and transform traces of human presence.
